The Suzuken Group is an assemblage of over 50 like-minded companies that have come together following a process of cooperation and alliance.
In April 2009, the Group formulated a set of management principles to accommodate its development to a higher dimension while enhancing Group unity and cohesion. These principles embody the thoughts of the Group's 14,600 employees and their wish to bring a smile to the faces of people everywhere.
In its efforts to garner the public's trust and confidence while continuously developing in partnership with society, Suzuken has made a declaratory statement asserting the Group's commitment to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility. Recognizing the increasingly diverse nature of values held by society and people, as well as the expanding breadth and depth of each company's social responsibility, Suzuken acknowledges that it must meet all expectations in an acceptable manner both as a member of society and good corporate citizen.
With this declaration, the Suzuken Group therefore pledges to listen carefully to the comments of all stakeholders including customers, local community residents, shareholders, investors, employees and business partners, to address all needs in a sincere and genuine manner and to fulfill its corporate social responsibility.

What then is the most appropriate manner in which to address expectations? How can Suzuken fulfill its CSR in a way unique to the Group?
Put simply, the Group must bring to fruition its management principles in the medical treatment and healthcare domain, and to continuously contribute to society by bringing to people everywhere rich and abundant lives brimming with smiles.
To date, each company within the Suzuken Group has worked diligently to foster human resources and contribute to society and the environment through its individual management and business activities. In order to realize its management principles, however, the Suzuken Group must adopt a more unified CSR approach that brings individual local community and Group company initiatives under a single roof. By taking full advantage of the synergy effects to accrue from Group company coordination, we will better garner the public’s confidence and trust while becoming a company that society cannot afford to be without.

Suzuken will promote CSR as a major initiative across the Group's nationwide network. Leading the charge will be the employees who make up the Group and provide the source of its comprehensive strength.
To mark the first anniversary of the Suzuken Group's management principles, we called on employees to recount their personal experiences focusing on the topic of “smiles.” Replies were received from all over Japan portraying pictures of customer, society, colleague and family smiles. Drawing from the appreciation shown by physicians and patients when medication was delivered late at night, or the smile of a patient, who after suffering for a lengthy period experienced substantial relief following the introduction of a new drug, we were able to picture the efforts of our employees striving to serve society and the public through their day-to-day activities.
The cumulative effect of these individual daily endeavors is the driving force behind efforts to realize the Group's management principles. Of equal importance are initiatives that help transfer employees’ understanding of the Group's CSR vision into action.
It is critical that we visualize an image of the Suzuken Group two to five decades from now growing in partnership with society and trusted by the community at large. We must then clearly identify the steps required to realize this image and to take the appropriate action. This is the first step in putting into practice the Suzuken Group's CSR.
Engaging in work with a strong sense of pride while sharing thoughts and ideas among all Suzuken Group employees, we will work diligently to ensure that our message“ Design Your Smile ― the Suzuken Group Creating Healthier and Better Lives”resonates loudly throughout local communities and society.
