Risk Management |
Basic Concepts of Risk Management
|
At Suzuken, we take preventive measures against the occurrence of risk within the Company Group. We also fulfill our social responsibilities when risk does occur by grasping the situation quickly and dealing with it promptly and appropriately. By doing so, we maintain and improve the corporate value of the Suzuken Group. |

Risk Management Framework
|
Suzuken has established a Risk Management Committee as an organization working under the Board of Directors. This committee manages risk in a comprehensive manner across the entire company in order to further consolidate the company's risk management framework from the perspective of CSR. This committee holds a review meeting once a month to manage the risks associated with Suzuken and its subsidiaries.
Furthermore, aiming at smooth business management and the improvement of brand value, we analyze risk on a regular basis, including the clarification and evaluation of all imaginable risks and the formulation of appropriate countermeasures. |

The Corporate Ethics Hotline, Suzuken's Internal Communication System
|
Within the Suzuken Group, as part of the system for sincere observance of laws and regulations, we have introduced a Corporate Ethics Hotline as an internal communication system for the Group.
The Suzuken Group has established this hotline aimed at early detection and prompt corrective measures when it becomes known that a violation of a law or regulation or the company's articles of incorporation, or some other behavior injurious to the Suzuken Group or brand has occurred or is about to occur. |

In addition, Suzuken has installed a Human Resources Hotline within the Human Resources Development Department and a Complaints Consultation Service within the labor union. |

Disaster Risk Management
|
Suzuken established Disaster Prevention Management Regulations in May 2005, and is continually advancing specific disaster prevention countermeasures based on them. After first ensuring the safety of employees and their families, our greatest aim is to fulfill the social responsibility we bear for the distribution of life-related products while preserving company facilities and continuing business. |
 |
Distribution of the Lifeguard Bible |
Suzuken distributes the Lifeguard Bible to employees as part of the company's disaster prevention countermeasures. This booklet presents guidelines for conduct that employees should take and initial response methods for various situations when a disaster, such as an earthquake, occurs. |
Promotion of Disaster Prevention Countermeasures |
The company installs disaster prevention equipment and conducts disaster prevention drills and emergency communication drills at each of its places of business. By these and other means, Suzuken is making efforts so that all employees conduct themselves safely and appropriately if an emergency arises.
Also, as a means for communication when a major disaster has occurred, Suzuken has installed satellite phones at its major places of business so that even if public phone lines are not available, the exchange of information, such as confirmation of safety and the damage situation between the company's places of business, is still possible.
Currently, in preparation for a large earthquake, we are confirming the earthquake resistant structures of all of our places of business and strengthening them as required. |
Upgrading of Disaster Countermeasure Systems |
As part of the company's Business Continuation Plan (BCP), which envisages times of major disaster such as great earthquakes, Suzuken has upgraded its disaster countermeasure systems and has formulated the Guidelines for Supply of Pharmaceuticals at Times of Major Disaster. The company is implementing regular drills every year so that appropriate and prompt countermeasures can be laid out. As a company that plays a role in the social infrastructure, Suzuken is striving to construct cooperative relationships with customers, such as medical institutions and insurance pharmacies, so that we can deliver the necessary products to the necessary place at the necessary time. |
| Upgrading Disaster Countermeasures Systems |
 |
Suzuken plans to upgrade its systems to be able to fulfill various responsibilities from the perspective of CSR in the event that a large-scale disaster occurs in the future, including promoting the formulation of the company's comprehensive (BCP, which will limit the effects of such a disaster to a minimum and allow business to recover promptly. |
