These days businesses are expected to demonstrate that they make a positive contribution to society. This expectation stems from the reality that the 'health' of the Earth has been profoundly compromised by factors including destruction of the ozone layer by CFC gases and desertification due to logging and similar activities. Corporate activities lie at the root of much of the disruption to the Earth's ecosystems, threatening to create a situation which will have an irreversible impact on humankind as well as all other living things.

Promoting good physical and mental health for people is the starting point for improving the health of the Earth. At Suzuken our focus is the health of the Earth as well as its inhabitants, and our aim is to find new ways to offer value, thereby contributing to healthier and better lives for all.

Corporations are also members of society. Like thoughtless behavior by an individual citizen that inconveniences the rest of the community, anti-social corporate activities should not be tolerated. A company should aspire to be an upstanding corporate citizen deeply rooted in the local community that makes a unique contribution to society as a whole. It is Suzuken's intention to become an even better corporate citizen and actively fulfill its social responsibilities. We will also fulfill our obligations to the shareholders on whom we depend by maintaining and improving Suzuken's earnings.
