CSR Framework

The Foundations of Suzuken's Corporate Activities

The foundations of Suzuken's corporate activities are the thorough implementation of compliance and two-way communication with stakeholders.
Suzuken believes that these two elements are essential for the company to survive and develop and should be given the utmost priority in the conducting of all corporate activities.

Thorough Implementation of Compliance

Suzuken will realize harmony between business development and the interests of society and the creation of an environment within which directors and employees can push ahead with their work in peace by clarifying the attitude of the company toward corporate ethics, setting out criteria for the ethical behavior that directors and employees should exhibit, and having the company and all derectors and employees conduct themselves in accordance with those criteria.

Suzuken formulated a Corporate Ethics Charter and Corporate Ethics Charter Guidebook in 2001 and distributed it to directors and employees. In these booklets, the company presented the standards of conduct that people should observe as Suzuken employees. The directors and employees of the company maintain a strong sense of ethics at all times and strive for the implementation of fair work.

In addition, Suzuken is conducting ongoing education through activities based on e-learning and stratified training in order to carry out thorough compliance. In this e-learning and training, we select important, high-priority themes, such as Suzuken's Compliance Policy, the Pharmaceutical Code of Fair Competition, Information Security, the Antimonopoly Law, the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law, Suzuken's Internal Reporting System, and the Revised Law for Equal Employment Opportunities for Men and Women. We strive to increase the awareness of employees toward compliance.

Two-Way Communication

Suzuken positions communication with stakeholders as the foundation of its corporate activities. We want to disclose information proactively and fulfill our responsibility to explain our actions as well as reflect the opinions and requests we receive from stakeholders in management. Through this two-way communication, we will make efforts to acquire the trust of all stakeholders as a highly transparent company.

Communication with Customers and Business Partners

In addition to providing customers, such as medical institutions and insurance pharmacies and business partners, with information via our website and other means, we also promote communication activities based on everyday dialogue.
In addition, Suzuken is making efforts to always reflect customer opinions in management and to improve customers' levels of satisfaction through means such as understanding customers' needs through daily communication activities and the regular conducting of customer surveys.

Communication with Shareholders and Investors

In addition to timely and appropriate information disclosure to shareholders and investors, Suzuken provides information by means such as the enhancement of general meetings of shareholders, business reports, annual reports, and the company's website.
In addition, the company is enhancing dialogue-based communication activities-such as positive participation in individual investor explanatory meetings and IR events, twice-yearly explanatory meetings for analysts and institutional investors, directors' visits, responses to requests for news material and telephone conferences with foreign investors-and is striving to improve levels of satisfaction among all shareholders and investors.

Communication with Directors and Employees

Suzuken shares information with directors and employees using the company intranet and aims at promoting understanding through means such as the implementation of explanatory meetings on important themes, the group magazine, and e-learning.
In addition, Suzuken promotes dialogue through on-site visits by top management and all-member meetings in the workplace, and along with striving for the invigoration of the company workplace, is also making effort toward the creation of a workplace easy to work in, including the regular conducting of employee awareness surveys.
