"Health Creation" in Focus

Being a Total Supplier for Diabetes Care

Suzuken Group products prominent in large-scale clinical trials conducted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, in an effort to extend the healthy life expectancy (the period during which people are healthy) of the populace, has formulated the 'Health Frontier Strategy,' and from 2005 to 2014 is conducting large-scale clinical trials at medical institutions and research facilities on prevention and improvement of diabetes and seven other disorders. One of these trials is the J-DOIT3 (Japan Diabetes Optimal Integrated Treatment study for 3 major risk factors of cardiovascular diseases), in which Suzuken products play a prominent role.

Compact blood glucose monitors from Sanwa Kagaku Kenkyusho

The J-DOIT3 trial makes use of blood glucose monitors, which are loaned to patients for daily testing. Compact blood glucose monitors from SKK are the most widely used home blood glucose testers in Japan.

The Kenz Calorie Counter e-Style device for measuring exercise, and the Kenz Lifecorder EX for recording day-to-day activity

The J-DOIT3 trial makes use of monitoring devices loaned to participants that measure daily calories consumed and steps taken as part of an exercise program conducted under the direction of a doctor or nurse. Suzuken developed the Kenz Calorie Counter in 1985, and has since continued to develop and market systems that help improve daily life. The Kenz Calorie Counter e-Style and Kenz Lifecorder EX provide patients with objective data on their physical activity that they can monitor themselves. Because they help foster proper exercise routines, these devices are widely used by medical institutions, the diabetes clinics of healthcare and health promotion centers, university research centers and other facilities.
