Suzuken is conscious of the urgency with which pharmaceuticals are needed, and is working to build a distribution network focused on enhancing the level of customer service. We have distribution centers in Sapporo (Hokkaido), Chiba (Chiba Prefecture), Toda (Saitama Prefecture), Kanagawa (Kanagawa Prefecture), Konan (Aichi Prefecture), Kobe (Hyogo Prefecture), Fukuoka (Fukuoka Prefecture) and Miyagi (Miyagi Prefecture). By the end of 2012, we plan to open an additional facility in Okayama prefecture for a total of nine centers nationwide, as well as establish eight product centers to support their operations.
By developing a logistics structure in which warehouses in each area and region are placed closer to customers, Suzuken will be able to shorten product delivery lead-times and lower the out-of-stock rate, as well as enhance service to customers and achieve more efficient distribution. |

Suzuken developed a new proprietary distribution system in May 2005 that provides traceability for all its products. Under this system, after a product is received from a manufacturer it is given a bar code with which the product lot number and expiration date are managed, ensuring the safety and efficacy of the products, and making their distribution channels clear to customers. Suzuken was the first company in the Japanese pharmaceutical wholesale industry to develop a system able to uniformly manage lot numbers and expiration dates at all distribution facilities nationwide. |
