Social issuesUsing digital means in the medical and healthcare fields

In the medical and healthcare fields, health-tech companies are developing completely new, innovative services, such as treatment apps and program-specific medical equipment, in quick succession, and these developments are forecast to continue increasing. Use of these technologies is expected to create new value, such as by making healthcare and nursing care providers’ work more efficient and ensuring the provision of optimal medical treatment to each and every patient. However, health-tech companies lack the resources and channels to spread their services, which makes it challenging to promote their social application. Additionally, personal health records and related data are not adequately protected from an information security perspective, nor are they centrally managed, resulting in the prevention of their effective utilization in the current landscape.

The Suzuken Group’s initiativesA digital platform utilizing connections with customers

The Suzuken Group is rolling out a digital health business that utilizes our network of medical institutions and pharmacies and other customers that we have cultivated thus far to apply health-tech companies’ technology in society and enhance its value.
We aim to create new added value by connecting individual services and data, with features such as a system that allows customers to access a variety of services and obtain diverse information using a single log-in, and a mechanism that organically interlocks data that can be utilized to create new solutions. To construct the digital platform that will realize these mechanisms,
in April 2023, we began rolling out COLLABO Portal, a comprehensive portal site for medical and nursing care providers. This portal will fulfill the role of connecting our partner health-tech companies with patients, medical and nursing care providers, pharmaceutical companies, local governments, and the Suzuken Group. We have begun offering services nationwide and already have tens of over 380,000 IDs registered. We also began rental services in June 2023 for COLLABO Mobile, a communications device that will enable medical and nursing care providers to access digital health services all in one place when needed.
COLLABO Portal’s functions are installed as standard on COLLABO Mobile, and it can be used not only in facilities but also at patients’ homes and other home healthcare and nursing care sites in the community.

We will continue to focus primarily on doctors to popularize the COLLABO Portal and enhance its content. We will also leverage one of the Group’s solutions, Medical Care Station (MCS), a communication tool for medical and nursing care providers, and connect with its IDs for these professionals. Through this collaboration, we aim to promote cooperation in community healthcare, as we strive to create new value for patients and their families. Moreover, we will develop and position internally certified DX ambassadors to create mechanisms geared toward spreading services and further pursue human resource development.
Moving forward, by monetizing COLLABO Portal and accumulating, linking, and utilizing a variety of data related to users’ utilization of services, we aim to support the development of new products and the creation of services by pharmaceutical companies and other diverse manufacturers. This will also improve the operational quality and efficiency of medical and nursing care providers. Furthermore, this initiative will ultimately result in improving access to medical and nursing care services and the QOL of patients and their families.

Preparing a new marketing support service leveraging our unique customer base

By establishing connections with individual medical and nursing care professionals through COLLABO Portal, we have made it possible to combine these personal-level connections with our existing relationships with facilities such as hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and nursing homes, enabling us to provide marketing support that integrates both perspectives.

In FY2024, on COLLABO Portal, we began hosting seminars tailored to the attributes of medical and nursing care professionals, presenting digital exhibitions, and providing information and materials related to the care of patients and users of nursing care services.

In April 2025, we also began disseminating information through our website to help raise awareness and promote understanding of a new disease concept announced by the Japan Society for the Study of Obesity known as Female Underweight/Undernutrition Syndrome (FUS). As seen in this disease awareness initiative, we aim to contribute to addressing social issues by supporting pharmaceutical companies and other businesses interested in the healthcare field in their efforts to reach individuals.

Going forward, we will continue to develop the Group information integration platform, which brings together data from approximately 160,000 medical institutions nationwide—our valued customers as a pharmaceutical wholesaler—and approximately 380,000 medical and nursing care professionals with whom we have newly established connections. Through this platform, we aim to take on the challenge of creating new revenue-generating businesses by leveraging information more effectively.
